5 Bluetooth Low Energy and the certification boundary

Bluetooth Low Energy is not region-gated in the way the sub-GHz radio is. The region mechanism described in this note governs sub-GHz behaviour; do not assume it changes Bluetooth Low Energy operation.

Operating in a region is necessary but not sufficient for compliance. The stack applying a region’s radio parameters does not, by itself, make your device certified for that market. You remain responsible for obtaining the regulatory certification required for each market in which you sell or operate the device. Configuring the correct region is a precondition for compliant operation, not a substitute for certification.
