1. Scope

This document explains the implementation of the Gateway Discovery and Selection feature in the Amazon Sidewalk endpoint stack and describes how the feature behaves under different Gateway Discovery and Selection policy settings configured through the SID API.

This feature provides APIs for Amazon Sidewalk stack developers to configure Gateway Discovery and Selection behavior for the SubG-FSK link. Developers can select predefined parameters optimized for various applications or define custom parameters for gateway selection.

The document describes the gateway discovery procedure, the gateway selection algorithm using specified criteria, and how to monitor connected gateway parameters.
